Hi. I’m Jess Farris.

I’m a lawyer, organizer, writer, mom, daughter, partner, and friend with a 25-year meditation practice that has helped save my life a few times.

When I was a scared kiddo, my mom told me I had built-in MONSTER SPRAY in my hands. All I had to do was say, “shhhhhhhh” while I aimed my fingers at wherever the monsters might be. I aimed under the bed, behind the curtains, in the closet, the dark corners of the room.

What I could only learn over time: I actually need to take aim at my own brain and say, “shhhhhhh” at least once a day to keep the monsters away.

I offer mindfulness classes designed to help you find calm in a moment, even if what’s going on around you is overwhelming and awful. Please come to a class if you’d like. I’d love to see you.
